Datil Pepper Hot Sauce Recipe

How to Make Datil Pepper Hot Sauce

Ingredients:
10-12 datil peppers
2 red bell peppers
1 jalapeno pepper
2 yellow onions
5 dried figs, processed
5 cloves garlic, minced
28oz can of fire-roasted crushed tomatoes
12oz can of tomato paste
1/2 cup agave
1 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
1/2 tablespoon chopped ginger
1/2 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3 teaspoons salt, to taste
1 teaspoon pepper, to taste


- Blend all peppers, onions, ginger, and minced garlic in a food processor
- Blend figs separately with 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
- In a large pot, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth using an emulsion blender. Cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.



Makes approximately 68oz
